The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “Because the Mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.”
At work I was given the task to search blue-prints for instruments and enter a description of the location into a Database that will later be used to help Laborers find the instruments as needed.
Mind you, I had never read a Blue-print in my life nor do I know the instruments, machinery or equipment I was working with. I was nervous and was afraid to make a mistake but I kept hearing, “it’s in the Searching”. I wanted to understand what God was speaking to me through this task. I noticed that the more I searched the more interested I was in learning about the Site and its instruments. The more I searched the more I actually got familiar with what I was looking for.
Later on, the Project Manager that put me on the Task tells me, “Brisy, do the best you can, because the more you do this the more you will understand the processes, instruments and equipment that we are working with. In 3 years you will know this Plant back and forth.”
I knew then that God had been highlighting this in my heart. There is a song that says, ‘It’s the Glory of God to hide, and it’s my glory to search Him out.’
It’s in the Searching. So, do you mean to tell me that God hides from us? Not exactly, not like we know hiding, but instead His mysteries are tucked away in life’s journey, His word and in Worship. Jesus used Parables to make His mysteries/ principles known to those who would not understand easily. The disciples were given the blue-prints. Jesus basically gave them a head start by telling them “Follow Me”. He became a Living Blue-Print, the Word-become-flesh. It is our job and for our benefit that we SEARCH Him out. Search for His truth to be revealed for His love to be manifest in our hearts in ways that blow our minds and Gives Him Glory; others will see the transformation that takes place in us when we “Study the Master” and we become a testimony, a story, A Parable before their eyes.
When we search we learn; things are exposed and things are revealed. His Mysteries become familiar to us, so that when we see His principles at work in the world we can easily recognize it as God’s work, which honors and glorifies Him. We glory in His work as we become ambassadors in the Kingdom. A person who knows and is familiar with a location, a site, a place, a process or thing is exalted and promoted. They are sought after for understanding. They are considered experts in their field.
I want to continue to search God, even when I really don’t know what I’m looking for because in the searching I am sure to stumble upon the mysteries of God and bask in the Glory of His Majesty. As I see His different dimensions I will be changed and become a little wiser, a little more loving, patient, kind, understanding and peaceful, making me more like Jesus. Will you join me in the Searching? Look for Him while He may still be found. Don’t allow for your hearts to be calloused, and your eyes become unable to see. The minute you start to search, you will quickly stumble upon understanding.
