Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:2
I ask you this question, What are we leading people INTO in Churchland?
Is it leaders in industries? Leaders of classrooms? Leaders in government? Leaders of business?
While the world is busy creating leaders that lead in enterprises, the church leader's focus is much different.
Leading can carry with it the temptation to depend on the "Richness of What we Think we Know" it can be challenging, confrontational and some times scary but chosen leaders lead because it's like fire shut up in our bones, we simply have to for the sake of the call; and the fruit of good servant leadership is rewarding in itself.
So, what are we leading people in?
We are leading people in the way of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
We are leading people into a deeper relationship with God.
We are leading people into health and Wholeness, as they discover their true identity in Christ Jesus and hon in on God's purpose for them on this Earth.
Making more disciples of the kingdom of God requires that we lead by example. This means that I am to BE the righteousness of God and manifest humility, goodness, Love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, patience and self-control in the daily ins and outs of the everyday simple things on this side of Eternity and let others watch Christ manifest in me! For you see, there, in the simplicity of life, lies our greatest tests. Depending on how we respond, these tests become gateways to promotions or torments.
Rather then busying yourself teaching how to DO this or that, it’s better to be so close to God that you are willing to stoop down and manifest forgiveness and humility the moment an offense occurs.
It means to Get low enough so that another person can step on your shoulders for a boost up.
It means being willing to not have the last word so that another will practice their voice.
This type of leadership is not easy. It requires death to self. Humility. Total dependence on God. It is living by the reality that “It is no longer I who live, but Christ, our humble king who lives in me.”
Watch out for those tests and be sure to get real low to go higher in Him. Lead this way.
