Reflecting on the series of event this past week leading up to this Sunday, I can’t help but to remember a story told in Acts 5:1-11. A story of a couple who drops dead after lying to the Apostles about how much they actually sold their property for. But I’m not thinking about them as much as I’m thinking about the group of young men that were assigned to “remove the dead bodies out of the temple”.
This week I witnessed how God used and ordered the steps of a group of young adults at RED to “remove” some dead things out of our church. The Lord graciously activated their gifts. Some dreamed, while others Saw in the Spirit and some Sensed and quickly discerned and others just plain out had encounters with the “dead” things. But they all responded in Spiritual Warfare! They heard the call of God to step into the Gap and travail in prayer and worship. They quickly responded with their eyes on Jesus and walked and moved in the authority of God.
Our team has tremendous maturity and they continue to grow. I am proud of them. They removed some dead things in the spirit this week. There was not only a cleaning of the Building in the natural, but we witnessed a cleaning in the spiritual. What a blessing and honor to have experienced God’s quick response to our prayers and declarations as a group!
Matthew 18:18-20 came to life right before our eyes!!
“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
There is Power in fervent Intercessory Prayer!
So Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
I was meditating on this scripture today and found that if we want increased faith we must HEAR. Hearing comes by the Word of God. As you read His word you begin to hear His heart and your faith is increased and developed. As we hear Him more, we are washed as our faith grows. Washed by His word.
Here is a step by step to help you get this principle deep down in your spirit:
It all begins with reading His word. can't get away from that; it's the Bread of Life. it must become an essential part of your day.
Luke 9: 23 and 29 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me... "Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray."
Last night Xaris asked me, "Mom do you know why I pray with my hands folded together?" She explained to me that her prayers go into her hands and as she releases her hands the prayers fly up to the heavens and into God's heart. Micah went on to explain that his prayers are between his hands like a laser! As he prays his prayers shoot out like the Laser in the Light Saber from Star Wars! Kids have a wonderful imagination that empowers them to believe!
God's ultimate Goal for us is that our mind is Renewed, transformed into the image of His son Jesus Christ. Did you ever wonder what that might look like? I believe Jesus wanted us to have a visual of a Renewed Mind.
In Luke 9 we read about the Transfiguration of Jesus. about 8 days before the account of the Transfiguration, Jesus talks to His disciples about "Taking up your cross daily and following Him". On the Mount as Jesus prayed the appearance of His face was altered and His robes became white and glistened! (Lk. 9:29)
Could it be that Jesus was showing Peter, James and John what a Renewed Mind looks like in the Spirit?
It is a daily occurrence, a picking up of the cross that happens as we pray and meditate on the Word of God; a transformation happens that cleanses from the inside out. our countenance changes, our attitude changes and we become the Re-presenters of Christ here on Earth; that is we present Christ again. God said, "Here is my Son, Hear Him!" When we represent Christ on Earth renewed and transformed we become Sons and Daughters and God says to the world before us, "Here is my Son/Daughter, Hear them!"
The world can recognize the God in us, if we are renewed, transformed, transfigured! We will shine with glistening white robes and our face (attitude) will change.
May you find the exuberant Joy of the Lord today as you commune with Him.
Let's Make it a Great Day!
Show me who I am to you
Show me what you want me to do
Show me where you want me to go
I will follow you til the end on the road
Your heart is what I want to know
Face to face I will know, what you show
In your presence I see clearly
In your presence I see deeply
It’s in you I find the meaning
of all things lingering
in my mind fighting for my attention
contending for my worship
who should I let sit on the throne of my mind?
who should I listen to you or my heart?
“Let me in”, you gently whisper,
let me show you, let me lead you
“Show me who I am to you!”, I whisper
Show me ME, and show me YOU. -BrisyO
What exactly is integrity and why is it important to have?
Integrity has to do with relentless honesty. You choose to be honest in all situations.
It is what you decide when there are only two people in the room— you and your conscience!
The Bible educates our conscience to show us what is truly right. Then we are convinced not to
take advantage of situations that may be to our gain if we just bend the rules a bit. Psalm 15 gives
us a list of other traits that involve integrity.
Joseph in the Book of Genesis was a man of integrity. At one point when he was a young man, his
master’s wife desired him while the master was gone from the house. What an opportunity! But
Joseph told himself, “No!” He said, “How then could I do this great evil and sin against God?”
You see, God gave Joseph a very special dream describing his destiny. Once Joseph understood that dream, he knew that God would be watching his every move! So Joseph vowed to himself, “If I want this dream to happen, I better do this thing right!” And he did! God did fulfill his destiny because He saw that
Joseph could be trusted.
I promise you, the minute you open your mouth in public to say you are a Christian, people are going to start watching you to see if your behavior matches your claims. Let’s uphold the Name of Christ through a commitment to honesty to see how God will entrust us with even greater things!
In spite of a few glitches here and there Encounter weekend 2013 was a huge success. We saw people getting healed and delivered from sickness, sins, the past and un-forgiveness. The sweet presence of God was there all weekend Guiding us. 12 people were baptized in water and all of them experienced the Freedom of God.
We are set free to set others Free. We are healed to help others heal. We are forgiven so that we too can forgive. This is true FREEDOM. Whom the Son set free is free indeed.
I encourage all who attended to maintain this new-found freedom. There is nothing too hard for God. remember that Praise is your weapon. Determine to live a lifestyle of Repentance before the Lord. Look to fulfill the Great Commission and always remember to live in the Spirit; Live in God's presence, it's where we breathe, it's where we survive. He is but a breath away. Call on Him and He will answer.
Pastor Nate and I are proud of each of you as you leave your past behind and move into the future lighter than before.
Character in a saint means the disposition of Jesus Christ persistently manifested.
It is the unseen and the spiritual in people that determines the outward and the actual.

I see the hand that reaches in
Digging deep into my heart,
mixing the rich, fine loose soil
His hand toils the powder of my heart.
Pain surges as He examines the content
to find the things that hide, the things that
hold back and block the growth of the seed, like Pride.
I feel every touch and hear his heart that says,
"hold on, be patient, believe and have Faith".
I clamber within, resistance sets in;
I cry out in agony, "Lord, please, is it over yet?"
Finally I surrender as I see at the distance
the little seed He plants, the little seed He whispers.
Gently He folds in the now fertile soil and smiles in delight
as he sees the work of His hands and my future in sight.
Seed, Time and Harvest my dear",
His words ring gently in my ear.
Surrender into growth,
and see in you the Lord's Wonder. - by BrisyO
Vashti, my 13 year old daughter, showed me this picture she had drawn in her free time at school, she titled it" Let Go!". As I looked at it a sense of peace and relaxation came upon me and I had to upload it to my phone. I knew there was more to this picture than meets the eye. The simplicity of it speaks to me. It's a simple dandelion that has reached maturity. the dandelion produces bright yellow flowers, and the plant continues to flower through its lifetime. The flowers eventually develop into heads composed of tiny seeds attached to pappus, fuzzy structures shaped like parachutes. When the seeds mature, wind currents blow the head of the dandelion apart and the pappus carry the seeds for miles through the air. Once the seeds land on damp, warm soil, they germinate and the life cycle begins again.
The dadelion becomes fragile after it's beautiful yellow flower turns into seeds. The Dandelion is surely reminded at this point that it is a weed and not actually a flower. Very much like us in the garden of life. There are times that in life we go through moments of insecurities, we are reminded of our not-so-lovely past or our attention goes to our not-so-pleasant present. We turn very much into a fragile little flower.
Have you been feeling fragile lately? Now, I don't know about you but I happen to like the Dandelion the most when it is all white and fuzzy like the picture Vashti drew. This is when you see little children and adults alike picking them up and blowing them into the air. Little do they know that the Dandelion is in a dying process; it is spreading its seeds to help produce more of it's kind. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." Hebrew 12:1
I would imagine that it is not a pleasant process for the little flower but we see beauty. The process that we go through sometimes is not pleasant for us, but others see beauty. God sees beauty.
Just as it is important for the little dandelion to Let Go of it's seeds, It's important for Believers to embrace the times of development in our lives and trust that we are equiped enought to simply, "Let Go". “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. -Is. 43:18-19
As the winds of daily situations and issues arise and sweep you away, know that the seeds in you will be sent off into areas that will cause growth. There is purpose for our storm. There is purpose for the Cycles that we go through. God wants us to simply Let Go, as He picks us up and shares us with the world around us. Your story needs to be told, your life shared. Let God breath on you.
There are moments in life that we face great opposition to the things we expected for ourselves, Times of suffering and trials. We wonder if this was God’s plan for us and why?
Jesus Christ had to endure such a time. When faced with false accusation and death He prayed to God and said, “Father, if it be thy will, take this cup from me.” He knew He had been sent to the world for such a time, but He was in anguish and like all of us, He hoped there would be a small window of opportunity for change.
What happens when God says NO? What do we do when His will is right there in that moment of suffering; moments like:
I can’t get past to the next grade level,
I lost a good friend,
My parent or guardian has abandoned me,
My friends are lying on me,
My house is being foreclosed on,
My spouse cheated on me, etc.?
Job 1:20-22 Then Job stood up, tore his robe and shaved his head. He fell to the ground and worshiped, saying: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I will leave this life.” The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Praise the name of Yahweh. Throughout all of this, Job did not sin or blame God for anything.
Today I want you to take with you a very important principle to live by. It is a principle that will help you find peace and Joy in every situation that you are faced with; yes, even those dark times in your life, like Job and Jesus faced, those uncertain times can be turned into gladness! This Principle is the “Nevertheless Principle”
No matter what happens in life remember that all things work together for the good of those who Love Jesus. Even our darkest moments in life are serving to build and shape us. It’s telling our story to bring Glory to God in some way. Everything leads to a future and a hope.
